Because…… when you do things like below gets by. DO NOT LET THE CONFUSION CONTINUE TO WORK! THE PAST IS DONE, OUR FUTURE IS AT STAKE AND WE MUST FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT AND STOP THE DESTRUCTION OF AMERICA!!!
I received this and wanted to share this because this is very important to all of us to see what we are up against. These types of things are serious. People you have to MAKE NOISE AND LET THEM KNOW THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND ANY OTHER RIGHT ELIMINATOR IS UNACCEPTABLE!
COMMENT: Well, let’s see — where to start. I tremble for my country — it is not a good day. The vision of the ’shining city on the hill’ has been tarnished by what is happening in Washington DC on so many fronts.
The Founders of this nation would no longer recognize what they
gave their lives to establish.
The good news is that Senator Brownback offered an amendment to clarify that the amendment shall not be construed or applied to infringe on First Amendment rights which passed 78-13-9.
Inclusion of the Brownback amendment should help safeguard free speech from the pulpit or airwaves, except in the cases of the most blatant, immediate incitement to violence. It helps neutralize the extremely threatening language of the 1968 hate crimes law, Title 18, sec. 2A, which says if anyone ‘induces’, through speech, commission of a violent hate crime the speaker will be tried ‘as a principal’ alongside the active offender in federal court.
Leahy Amendment (The Hate Crimes language from S. 909) placed on the Defense Authorization Act (S. 1390) passed 63-28-9.
According to the government website, the Leahy amendment then passed by a voice vote.
Protect Pedophiles but not veterans: See one of my heroes Cong. Steve King on the Hate Crimes bill as it went through the house. Click HERE.
The Hate Crimes bill was named the Matthew Shepard Bill to not the tragic murder of this young man in Wyoming in 2004 that was portrayed as a ‘hate crime’ against a homosexual. However, let’s set the record straight once again: “But Shepard’s killers, in their first interview since their convictions, tell “20/20’s” Elizabeth Vargas that money and drugs motivated their actions that night, not hatred of gays.”
WASHINGTON — The Senate on Thursday approved the most sweeping expansion of federal hate crimes law since Congress responded four decades ago to the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.
The legislation, backed by President Barack Obama, would extend federal protections granted under the 1968 hate crimes law to cover those physically attacked because of their gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability.
“This bill simply recognizes that there is a difference between assaulting someone to steal his money, or doing so because he is gay, or disabled, or Latino or Muslim,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said.
Voice vote passage came immediately after supporters cleared a 60-vote procedural hurdle imposed by Republicans trying to block consideration of the legislation. That vote was 63-28.
We will need to know who the traitors are there are at least 3. We must continue on every bill to let them know what the people want.
The hate crimes bill was offered as an amendment to a must-pass defense spending bill that the Senate is expected to finish some time next week. Several Republican amendments to the hate crimes legislation still could be considered on Monday, but Thursday’s vote determined that it will be part of the defense bill when it passes.
Ahhh the trade off that Obama intends to veto… Mmmm see a pattern here!
The 1968 hate crimes act covers violence related to a person’s race, color, religion or national origin. Federal involvement is confined to a narrow range of circumstances, such as when the victim is using a public facility or attending a public school, serving on a jury or participating in a government program.
I am wondering if race means all races or just the ones listed, same with color.
The proposed legislation, in addition to expanding the categories covered, ends the “federally protected activities” requirement.
Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., now being treated for cancer and unable to be on hand for the debate, first proposed the bill in 1997. While coming close on several occasions, he has never been able to overcome opposition from those who contend it infringes on states’ rights and First Amendment rights to free speech. Former President George W. Bush said he would veto the bill if it reached his desk.
Obama needs to get bombarded with Letters! Calls! Faxes! If someone kills they always do it out of hate. If they watch a movie that incited hate, does that mean the actor, the writer, the director will go on trial too or does this mean to just suffocate blogs, religion, people talking etc.?
This time, however, pro-bill Democrats control both houses of Congress and Obama is a strong supporter. Attorney General Eric Holder has urged Congress to give his department authority to prosecute cases of violence based on sexual orientation, gender or disability.
The measure still has a way to go. Obama has told Congress he will veto the defense bill if it includes more money for an F-22 fighter program he is trying to terminate. The House in April passed a similar hate crimes bill, but did it as independent legislation not tied to a larger bill Read more here.

“Hate Bill” Favoritism
If “hate bill”-obsessed Congress can’t protect Christians from “gays” as much as it wants to protect “gays” from Christians, will Congress be surprised if it can’t protect itself from most everyone? If “hate bills” are forced on captive Americans, they’ll still find ways to sneakily continue to “plant” Biblical messages everywhere. By doing so they’ll hasten God’s judgment on their oppressors as revealed in Proverbs 19:1. (See related web items including “David Letterman’s Hate, Etc.,” “Separation of Raunch and State,” “Michael the Narc-Angel,” and “Bible Verses Obama Avoids.”) Since Congress can’t seem to legislate “morality,” it’s making up for it by legislating “immorality”!
