Union Throwing Labor Under The Bus

WASHINGTON – The head of the AFL-CIO says he’s willing to consider a tax on high-value health insurance plans — something labor has vehemently opposed — if middle-class workers aren’t hurt.
If the middle class workers aren’t hurt. What does that mean. They’ll take a small tax costing them money but if it is bigger than well, that might be hurting them. That is an outrageous stance to take. Who is going to pay the tax? Labor. Are they really representing you? Seems to me they would fight tooth and nail to protect the Labor who pays them their dues out of every paycheck.
The comments by AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka indicated new flexibility on the issue from a powerful Democratic constituency as the House and Senate are on the verge of debating sweeping health care legislation.
Powerful Democrats, the Union is caving and you are the ones who will suffer because you are most of the people who have those high value plans. Is that the change you voted for? Is this representation? I think I would be contacting my union representative or higher and have a serious chat to find out their thinking on this. If you are excluded it is a buy off, and also unfair to those who have no representation at the table right now. Most Republicans can’t get the Democrats to listen to any of their ideas and accept any changes, so those who are in states that has Republicans… THEY HAVE NO REPRESENTATION. Do you like this change? Do you think it is fair?
The insurance plan tax is the Senate’s preferred method to pay for covering the uninsured. But the tax has run into trouble with organized labor. Labor leaders worry that workers would be affected even though lawmakers aimed the proposed tax at insurance plans offering the richest benefits.
Robin Hood theory, anyone not at poverty has to pay for those in poverty. When will those in poverty go get jobs. I understand there are those who are not able, but there are a large percentage I see in grocery stores paying with food stamps who look quite healthy to work and are not. I don’t know about you, that seems totally wrong. Don’t you? Labor as in the name suggests goes to work every day and does their job and you because you are a harding working joe has to give up your money to the government who says they are going to give it to the poor, but remember we have severe deficits right now and we are going to pay for something that won’t start for 5 years. Where do you think tha t money is going? Not in a separate account to build up the funds…. No bet it will go on some other spending spree at the theft of Obama and the Democrats because right now….. They haven’t slowed their spending. Have you seen it? I haven’t!
