Lou Dobbs defecting from CNN

Lou Dobbs leaving CNN for ‘new opportunities’

I wonder what he is going to do.  I watched a little bit of his show today and he is becoming concerned with this country and the freedoms we are losing.  He was talking to three men, two of them progressive type democrats who were saying that we shouldn’t label or jump to comclusions on Fort Hood massacre of soldiers.   The third man was trying to stand up for Freedom of Speech and the politically correct that the left has shoved down our country’s throat.   Dobbs got passionate and said when did this country change where you had to keep your mouth shut and not say anything.  This country is built on ideas from all sides.  He was quite animated about it.  I am glad he did that for his last hurrah.  I didn’t know this would be his last show, but if CNN is going this route with their coverage they won’t be around much longer.  The left has become violent, vicious in their attacks, accusatory, and wants to suffocate the opposition in any catergory because they feel that they are right and everyone is wrong.   Part of anyone discussing or debating issues is to look at all sides.  You know “both sides of the coin”  as you know that both sides of the coin are not the same and the objectivity and the consequences, or ideals of the other side are not necessarily wrong but are meant to make you consider, think, change, adjust, compromise or whatever.   The left will not do any of this and this will be their downfall.

For one, there are more conservatives than there are progressives.  There are more Americans who believe in this country than there are progressives, well progressives don’t believe in this country they believe in a utopia of where government is their everything.  That they get all these free treats and prizes by just existing and they have to do little for it.  They don’t understand that Freedom is not free it comes with a price, a price of hardwork, liberty, speaking up, spiritual faith, and love of this country and the people within even when you don’t like them very much or even agree because the common thread isn’t who is right or wrong it is us, it is the people who are within these borders called Americans who believe and live Freedom and Liberty.   They don’t get it.  That’s ok, if they really hate it so bad and can’t change it then go where you can go to Africa that seems to be the topic of the day where you want to control that country.  Personally I don’t really care.  I am tired of them trying to take my freedoms and trying to make people feel like they are small and small minded.  Let me tell you, it isn’t us that is small or small minded it is them.   Remember, do not let them push you down, do not let them shut you up, WE can stop all of this nonsense as long as we the people stand together as one.  This comes for all walks of life, rich, poor or middle, white, black, brown, yellow and perfect or imperfect.   We love our fellow Americans.  We accept people for who they are and celebrate those differences, see it appears the left wants to get rid of imperfection, they hate differences, and want to keep the poor poor and make the rich poor and that in turn takes the middle down to poor.  Do you see what that is?   Is is the power, and greed they are after.  Straight and simple.

NEW YORK – CNN’s Lou Dobbs, a lightning rod for criticism following his transition from a business journalist to an opinionated anchor on such issues as illegal immigration, told viewers on Wednesday that he was quitting his nightly show to pursue new opportunities.

“This will be my last broadcast,”

“Over the past six months, it has become increasingly clear that strong winds of change have begun buffeting this country and affecting all of us, and some leaders in media, politics and business have been urging me to go beyond the role here at CNN and to engage in constructive problem-solving as well as to contribute positively to a better understanding of the great issues of our day and to continue to do so in the most honest and direct language possible,” Dobbs said during his 7 p.m. broadcast.

“Each of those issues is, in my opinion, informed by our capacity to demonstrate strong resilience of our now weakened capitalist economy and demonstrate the political will to overcome the lack of true representation in Washington, D.C. I believe these to be profoundly, critically important issues and I will continue to strive to deal honestly and straightforwardly with those issues in the future.” Read Dobbs’ full statement about his departure from CNN

Dobbs said after giving the day’s headlines. Dobbs, who hosts a daily radio show unrelated to CNN, said the network had allowed him to be released early from his contract.

Dobbs was a CNN original, signing on when the cable network started in 1980. For much of that time, he hosted a nightly business broadcast that became one of the most influential shows in the corporate world, and CNN’s most profitable show for advertising revenue.

But Dobbs said his world view changed after the 2001 terrorist attacks and corporate corruption scandals, and he began to more freely express his opinions. He was particularly persistent in bringing the immigration issue to the fore, winning him both higher ratings and enemies. Latino groups had an active petition drive seeking his removal.

His presence became awkward for CNN, particularly as it began emphasizing reporting and non-opinion shows. He angered management this summer by pressing questions about President Barack Obama’s birth site after CNN reporters determined there was no issue.

Dobbs said the decision came after months of discussion with CNN U.S. President Jon Klein. Dobbs said he wanted to concentrate on his role as a commentator and on advocacy journalism.

Klein hailed Dobbs’ “appetite for big ideas, the megawatt smile and larger-than-life presence he brought to our newsroom.”

“With characteristic forthrightness, Lou has now decided to carry the banner of advocacy journalism elsewhere,” Klein said. “We respect his decision.”

Dobbs said he was proud of his role in helping to build the first cable news network. He said some leaders in media, politics and business “have been urging me to go beyond my role here at CNN and to engage in constructive problem-solving.”

Seated at an anchor desk in front of a screen with a fluttering American flag, Dobbs mentioned his interest in issues such as health care, jobs, immigration, climate change and the wars.

“Unfortunately, these issues are now defined in the public arena by partisanship and ideology rather than rigorous empirical thought and forthright analysis and discussion,” he said. “I will be working diligently to change that as best I can.”

His resignation was hailed by activists who were seeking his ouster.

“Our contention all along was that Lou Dobbs — who has a long history of spreading lies and conspiracy theories about immigrants and Latinos — does not belong on the most trusted name in news,” said Roberto Lovato, co-founder of Presente.org. “We are thrilled that Dobbs no longer has the legitimate platform from which to incite fear and hate.”

See how the left is vicious… I have more to show you in regard to viciousness…

Lou Dobbs’ gunshot ‘threats’ Lou Dobbs claims gunshots were fired at his New Jersey home after a series of threatening calls — but police believe the shots were just from hunters. The CNN host told his radio-show listeners he’s under attack for his views on immigration. “My house has been shot and hit . . . and you know what, I’m not in the mood to put up with little fools like Geraldo Rivera,” Dobbs said. Rivera has criticized Dobbs on Fox News. But NJ State Police say Dobbs never reported death threats. Sgt. Stephen Jones said, “At this time of year, hunter complaints go up.”  Read more

Tom Saenz, president of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the leading Latino legal organization, said, “The Latino community can and should celebrate that Lou Dobbs is no longer on CNN.”

U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, a Democrat from Dobbs’ home state of New Jersey and the Senate’s only Hispanic member, called it “addition by subtraction” for CNN.

Dobbs did not immediately return telephone and e-mail messages to talk about his critics.

Although he joined CNN in 1980, Dobbs left the network for two years in 1999, after angrily complaining on the air about a decision by then-CNN President Rick Kaplan to switch away from his show to a live news event. An Internet venture failed and when Kaplan left CNN, Dobbs returned.

Dobbs’ ratings had cooled from the height of the immigration discussion. But his 879,000 viewers on Tuesday still eclipsed MSNBC’s Chris Matthews (Fox News Channels Shepard Smith had more than double the audience) and even beat Campbell Brown’s CNN show, which followed Dobbs at 8 p.m. ET in prime-time, according to the Nielsen Co.

A decision on who will replace Dobbs is expected to be announced Thursday.

I could care less who replaces Lou Dobbs, he was an asset to CNN and they will be sorry for that loss for that voice of reason!  He is an American just like us.  I heard talk Foxnews was talking to him, I hope in this case he is another defector to go to the place of Americans of all types, voices and ideas.  We’ll see.  I suspect where ever he goes he will do his best to fight for America as we all are because we all know in our gut since this man who we call the president took office oh he fundamentally changed America but I don’t think he realizes who much he is bringing true Americans together and we will fight.  We will do all we can to save our country for our children and grandchildren for generations to come.  CNN will no longer get any viewership from my household on any topic whatsoever.   They have gone the way of the meanstream media who are not looking out for this country’s best interest and for that I have no use in anything they have to say.
