(Newswire.net — April 21, 2016) —Nicholas James “Nick” Vujicic, is an Australian Christian evangelist and motivational speaker. With Serbian origins, Nick was born in 1982 in Melbourne, Australia, with Phocomelia, a rare disorder characterised by the absence of legs and arms.

“I could be angry at God for what he has not given me, but just so happy for what I do have. My mother told me that God will need me, sooner or later. It gives me strength and hope. I realized that God can heal us even if he does not change the circumstances. One of the most important things I realized when I was depressed, if I can not get a miracle, maybe I can be a miracle for someone else and help.”

Nick Vujicic is a miracle.

When Nick was seventeen, his mother showed him a newspaper article about a man dealing with a severe disability, soon after, he started giving talks at his prayer group and later founded a non-profit organisation “Life Without Limbs”, and a motivational speaking company “Attitude is Altitude”.

Vujicic graduated from Griffith University at the age of 21 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with a double major in accounting and financial planning.

Vujicic has written several books, and in the last ten years, has told his life story in 25 countries around the world, in front of more than three million people.

Nick has a wife, Kanae Miyahara, and two sons, Dejan Levi Vujicic and Kiyoshi James Vujicic.

“I love my sons most in the world. My older son is already taller than me. He loves music, and he has more than 150 records: Tchaikovsky, Elvis Presley, Bon Jovi … I just want him to be happy. It does not matter what he will do, only important thing is for him to do what he likes. The first person who ever told me that one day I will be a speaker who will be listened by millions, was the person who was cleaning the toilets at a school that I attended. I thought he was crazy! What would make me proudest of my children, is to love each other, to love their parents, but also to love God. As long as you love God and love people, but actively, not only mentally, I’ll be a proud father”, said Nick, who always has a smile on his face.

But he has not always been as optimistic and satisfied with life.

“I tried to kill myself when I was only eight years old. I asked from my parents to let me bathe in a tub of water. I tried… but I couldn’t. I decided to live and fight. Challenges exist to strengthen our beliefs and not to run over us”, says Nick and advises us: “Fear is a greater handicap than not having hands and feet, so renounce life with self-pity for a life with a purpose.”
